In the eleventh episode of What The Growth!?, Visitor Queue’s Chief Executive and Co-founder, Nick Hollinger, goes over how to identify what Facebook Ads your competitor’s are running.
In this episode, we’ll be talking about how you can identify what Facebook Ads your competitor’s are running. Outside of curiosity, this is a great tactic to help with competitive research and give you some new ideas for your Facebook Ads.
Identify What Facebook Ads Your Competitor’s are Running
Due to privacy concerns in 2018, Facebook made a change to increase transparency amongst its users, by allowing them to go to a Facebook business page and see what ads that page is currently running. There are two ways to do this. The first is from the Facebook Ads Library tool. Don’t worry, you don’t need to have an ad account or any special permission to use this tool. Start by selecting the country the ad would be running in. If you want, you can select all countries, then select the add category. You can also just select all ads from the list, if you are unsure. Now, you want to search by keyword or company name to find the specific ads for that keyword or company name. You’ll see in the results all the different ads, and when they were launched. On each individual ad you’ll also be able to click see add details to learn more about the ad.
The second way to find company’s ads is by going to a specific Facebook page and scrolling down until you see “Page Transparency”. Then, click on “See All”, and finally click on “Go to Ad Library” to see the ads for that specific page. This is a great way to find ideas for your next creative by seeing what leading brands are running and also determining what and if your competitors are running Facebook Ads.
Bonus Tip
You can also do the same on Twitter to see what tweets that account have boosted in the past seven days.
